Some buildings are just buildings until the right cars roll into them. On Saturday, September 26, the one at 6955 S Jones Blvd got its moment.

Lifted Space opened its doors that afternoon for the Lifted Car Club grand opening, and the Las Vegas car community came through them. Collectors, builders, lifelong enthusiasts and plenty of curious newcomers spent the day walking a floor that doubles as one of the more interesting garages in the city.

What they found was a room that made no sense on paper and perfect sense in person. A historic car connected to Carroll Shelby. A Lamborghini Huracán reworked by Modified Performance. More than 20 Porsches spanning decades of the 911. A late-1950s GMC pickup wearing its patina like a service medal. And a smart car that someone, bless them, decided should be able to winch itself out of a ditch.

These are the cars, the people who brought them, and the reason September's show was only the first of many Saturdays.

A Carroll Shelby legend, in person

Every great car show has one car that pulls people across the room. Lifted Space had the Shelby Grasshopper.

Carroll Shelby's name gets attached to a lot of things. A historic car connected to his story, parked close enough to study every detail, is something else entirely. Guests circled it, came back to it, and kept asking the same question: what exactly is it?

It's a fair question, and the answer is far too good to squeeze into a caption. Cars with Shelby in their story rarely come with short histories, and this one is no exception. Whether the Grasshopper stopped you in your tracks at the show or you're meeting it here for the first time, settle in and discover the rich history behind the Shelby Grasshopper.

MPLAMBO: a Huracán with a point of view

Some cars introduce themselves in beautifully subtle ways. This orange Lamborghini Huracán gave Lifted Space a bold "I've arrived" instead, with eye-popping color, a slick interior and a V10 roar that'll give you chills. Even the license plate gets in on it: MPLAMBO.

Approach from behind and the intent is obvious. A black rear wing spans the engine cover, the taillights are smoked, and four exhaust tips sit low in a darkened rear fascia. Inside, the mood shifts to black trim, orange leather and the red flip-up cover over the start button that every Huracán owner learns to love.

A modified exotic can go wrong in a hurry. This one doesn't. Every change looks deliberate, and the car still looks exactly like what it is: a Lamborghini, only more so.

Lifted Space caught up with George, the owner of both MPLAMBO and Modified Performance. George is also a professional drifter, and that gives him a real edge when it comes to modifying cars. He knows how a car should behave at the limit because he spends so much time there. In this walkaround video, he shares what his family loves about the Lambo.

As George tells it, his job is to set up the meeting between a driver and God. What happens after that, they're on their own.

It's a funny line with a serious point underneath. In a second video, George walks through what the crew at Modified Performance actually handles. He also gets candid about the gap between what people think they want and what they can really handle. Plenty of drivers dream about 2,000 horsepower. He makes a frank case that 800 is often the number they can actually put to use.

More than 20 Porsches, and one very rare 911

Anyone who loves the 911 spent a long time in this part of the building. More than 20 Porsches call Lifted Space home, and for the grand opening they lined up nose to tail like a family portrait.

The row told the 911's story better than any timeline could. Classic cabriolets in white and red sat beneath a black air-cooled 911 Turbo raised on a lift. Walk the line and the shape evolves before your eyes, changing only as much as Porsche ever dared to change it.

Then there was the 2024 Porsche 911 S/T. Porsche limited the S/T to 1,963 cars to mark 60 years of the 911, and this one wears Shoreblue Metallic, a color offered only with the Heritage Design Package. Look closely and the number 63 appears on its doors. That number has a story of its own, and it gets a dedicated feature later this season.

Here's the part worth remembering: these cars weren't trucked in for the afternoon. They live here. That is the whole idea behind Lifted Space: car storage in Las Vegas that feels less like a parking spot and more like a home.

Wrapstar's Ferrari 812 Superfast steals a few glances

Event sponsor Wrapstar arrived the way a wrap and paint protection specialist should: with a car that is very hard to walk past. Its Ferrari 812 Superfast wears satin gray with yellow-and-black stripes running nose to tail, yellow prancing-horse shields on the fenders and yellow brake calipers behind dark multi-spoke wheels.

Lift the hood and the heart of it sits right there: a red-and-silver V12 stamped 6.5. Ferrari named the 812 for its 800 metric horsepower and 12 cylinders, which lands right around the number George says most drivers can actually handle. Call it a happy coincidence. Inside, cognac leather meets a carbon-fiber steering wheel, with the red Engine Start button and the manettino right where your thumbs want them.

Walk around back and the car finishes the introduction for you: four round taillights, four exhaust tips and a Nevada plate that reads WRAP X, framed in Wrapstar's own branding.

Wrapstar is a Las Vegas business that specializes in ceramic coatings, paint protection film and luxury wraps. In a desert city, where sun and road debris are hard on paint, that work is about protection as much as personality. It's the same instinct behind exotic car storage: keep a special car looking the way it should for as long as you own it.

Wrapstar's sponsorship helped bring the grand opening to life, and its Ferrari was worth the drive on its own. More of the team's work is at Wrapstar.

Rebuilds, classics and exotics, side by side

The best part of a show like this is the company each car keeps. Supercars parked beside work trucks, and 1950s chrome sat a few feet from carbon fiber. Here are a few worth a second look.

A late-1950s GMC 100 pickup

Teal and cream paint worn through to bare metal, quad headlights, and a stance so low the body nearly touches the floor. A slatted wood bed carries a vintage Pepsi-Cola cooler, and under the hood sits a tidy, well-kept engine bay. The patina is the point. This truck wears every year of its life, and it has clearly been cared for.

A Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

An ivory roadster with round headlights, a three-pointed star in the grille and chrome that catches every light in the building. Behind it, a red air-cooled 911 rested on a storage lift. It was a quiet reminder that at Lifted Space, the cars in the background are often as good as the ones up front.

Parked beside the 190 SL, wearing Underground Racing script along its sills. An Italian V10 next to a German roadster from the 1950s is two very different answers to the same question: what should a beautiful car feel like?

A lifted smart fortwo

Matte red wrap, five LED light pods across the roof, a winch up front, red recovery shackles and all-terrain tires. Somebody looked at the smallest car in the room and asked what it would take to send it off-road. It is impossible not to respect the commitment.

The last Saturday of every month

The grand opening was the first Lifted Car Club show, not the last. The club plans a show at Lifted Space on the last Saturday of every month, and every car enthusiast is welcome. Classics, exotics, trucks, rebuilds and the project still coming together in someone's garage all belong.

Las Vegas has never been short on car people. What it needed was a regular home base: one Saturday a month when you know there will be something worth seeing and someone worth talking to. Beyond the monthly shows, the club will also host private events for members throughout the year.

Planning a first visit? Here's what to expect at a Lifted Car Club show.

Credit for the first one goes to the owners who brought their cars, the guests who walked through the door, and partners like Wrapstar and Modified Performance.

A home for the cars you care about

Every car show ends the same way. The crowd thins, the owners pack up, and the cars head back to garages across the valley. At Lifted Space, many of them don't have to go anywhere.

Beyond the club, Lifted Space offers luxury car storage in Las Vegas. The long row of Porsches, the 911 S/T and the classics resting on lifts above the show floor live here between the Saturday events, indoors and secure, surrounded by people who are just as excited about them as their owners are.

The philosophy is simple: Las Vegas auto storage should be run by people who love cars. For owners protecting a modern supercar, a classic that only comes out for weekend drives, or a car that has simply outgrown the home garage, Lifted Space offers private storage tours.

For everyone who simply wants to be part of what happens here once a month, the place to start is the club.
